Day Care

Who am I ?
My name is Chloé, I’m 29 years old and originally from Edinburgh now living in Dumfries and Galloway. I worked in politics most of my live, but dogs have brought the lightest moments of happiness into my life the therapeutic value of unconditional love that dogs give are unmatched. That’s why I chose that my occupation needed to be something that would make me smile. We started our run free dog field over a year ago and now are expanding into various different other services the next one being day care! I have been brought up with working cocker spaniels in my life, and I can’t wait to get to know as customers and your fur children. So enough about me let’s get to answering some questions that may out your mind at ease whilst leaving your fur child in my care.
What do the fur children do at day care
On arrival after all the owners have left we start with some dog meditation with aroma and sound therapy these videos have been provided for me by my friend from Los Angeles, bringing Hollywood to your pup on our projector. This is particularly good for dogs with separation anxiety and are unsure of new places. We then get some cuddle and soothing time with treats and toys and the play pen.
Lunch is then provided food break (there is a section for lunch and feeding)*
Once we’re all full we’re off to the run free dog field which won number one in the Scottish Borders with a gymkhana and lots of water and ball throwing this is included in the price of day care. We will take some modelling pictures (content for our social platforms with your consent). Then Clean paws and nap time later in the afternoon it’s all about the sticky mats and treat puzzles to get the pups brains working.

Vaccinations and Neutering
All dogs (male and female) must have full and up to date vaccinations to join us at Doggy Dreamland (including Kennel Cough) Please bring certificates when dropping off. If your dog is exempt for medical reasons please provide evidence from a vets written letter.

All dogs (male) must be neutered as well due to legalities this is not my personal views as I believe owners should have the freedom of choice to chose how there dogs lives (out of my hands). Note some vets will give temporary neutering via injection for up to a year, proof of this would be required.

Updates and Check Ups
As a keen social media user, I’m available on most platforms my personal number will be given to customers. Also we can send pictures off the dogs enjoying various activities whilst they are in our care (WhatsApp, but can be amended to suit your preferred social platform.

Pick up and Drop off
In the near future we will be offering pick up and drop of services directly to your home which can be booked online when available. At this moment at time drop off is at 8AM we have no fine for late drop offs. Full day day care is from 8AM~5PM. Half day care is 8AM~12PM OR 1PM~5PM. We can be flexible so if these times need to be catered to your needs please contact me directly to organise.

Medical Attention
At Doggy Dreamland we prioritise the safety of your fur children first so you can have a productive day worry free. We are working with a local vet or your preferred vet in case of any medical emergencies we also have dog first aid kits of the premises. If your dog has a medical condition please make us aware with paper work from your vet that they are medically able to attend day care and take part in activities.
Dogs who are not socialised
We can make special arrangements for dogs who are not good with other dogs but this will reflect in the pricing so contact me directly for prices. We don’t like to discriminate against any dog. Like people some people are anti social so are some dogs!

Puppies
Obviously, we allow puppies who doesn’t love puppies and it’s perfect to get them socialised with other dogs at a young age! We allow puppies after they have had all there vaccinations and you will need to bring them at there first visit. We will even help out with the toilet training with puppy pads.

Lunch Time (Food)
The dogs have lunch around Midday, each dog has a separate bowl numbered so there is no confusion in what the dogs are eating. Our standard food is dry we our in the pipeline merging with a premium dog food company on instagram. If your dog has an allergies please let us know, if you have any request you may have to pay extra or alternatively you can bring your dogs food. Each dog will be fed separately to ensure every pup is getting there correct lunch and is happy and full!
Separation Anxiety affected dogs
Having Cocker Spaniels all my life, they tend to get separation anxiety so I have had to work on this with all my dogs through my life. So I have the experience of knowing techniques to calm dogs down such as aroma therapy, dog meditation, music and calming images on the projector in the day care center. Also a we like to keep your dog entertained and busy for the day and dog with social anxiety will sit with me until they feel more comfortable.
